Peplum Print

Well hello world.

I'm feeling perky and chipper today as I'm starting work on my ASOS Boutique! Hurrah! It will be live TONIGHT. So freaking excited.

Here is an outfit for your eyes. I'm so in love with this printed peplum top from Matalan of all places. It looks great with these skinny black jeans and also with a bright turquoise pencil skirt I also bought that day. A waist cincher and so versatile. Boom.

The sunglasses are from LeLove vintage from Etsy. They are shipped from the US but with postage they were still under a tenner. I've been after for a true pair of cat eyes for so long! So I'm very happy with these deadstock vintage sunnies.

The bag is from New Look in the sale, I'm not one for the metallic trend in full, but an accessory suits me fine.

After having bought this Peplum top I'm very keen on getting my hands on the pink satin H&M peplum top that is everywhere in magazines currently, very similar to this one that Dianna Aagron is sporting:

Now you've got me thinking Peplum! Check out this gorgeous shift dress from old favourite River Island...

Happy waist cinching!

Mismatch-y Mismatch-y

With prints littering the catwalks at London Fashion Week I cannot wait for payday because I want to invest in some serious mis-matching prints. Now I'm new to keeping a keen eye on fashion week, but I loved what was coming out of the S/S12 collections that I thought keeping tabs on London Fashion week would offer up some exciting ideas for my eyes to eat up.

Now firmly established, Mary Katrantzou stunned me with her A/W collection. This collection certainly fits the description LFW gave her designs: " A hyperrealistic aesthetic, bold graphics..."

Taking a quick look back to S/S 12 (a look back?!) I also loved the Preen collection and the pastel geometric prints. Pastel enough for Spring but punchy enough to not wave a final farewell to neon and bold colours.

Understandably, the world of yester-year didn't immediately think that typewriters and mazes would make for pretty dresses so florals are often the go to print. Which is why I want a suit. Oh yes, you're talking to the girl who doesn't own trousers. Possibly this one from River Island...

And if you happen to have a 28 inch waist and £28, I don't see why you wouldn't want this dress. Pair with a clashing printed blazer (or if you're feeling clash shy, a fuchsia/coral/aqua cover up) and colour pop heels and this trend is nailed, non? Oh for a 28inch waist...

Talk about a load of ramble.
Oh well.

I WISH: SPARKLY SHIMMERY SHINY SEQUINS

Hurrah! Christmas is upon us (nearly) and I want sequins and I want metallic leather and I want glitter shoes and I want want want. It’s unlikely I will be able to afford any but I want to share my favourite party goods with you…

And who, but M&S have cottoned on to Prada’s giant sequin gem of an idea (see below)?!

        OH MIU MIU!!!!!

This French Connection dress is ICONIC now. Grab it in gold too.

Wear this River Island gold leather skirt with basic jersey pieces and knitwear to keep the focus all on the glitz. Plus it’s a different take on the usual party glam wear. I love this.

If you’re strapped for cash as I am (as you know) then look in Vintage shops, charity shops and eBay for sequinned and beaded tunic dress not unlike this one that is currently on ebay - ooh correction-sold on eBay for £20. Seems alot but these dresses are usually a great fit on all body shapes. Even me with my big boobs…unless you read my earlier post about quite literally bursting out of one of these dresses…!

Get sparkly and get creative with how to you style your sequins. Think knitwear, opaques, black leather and grey and white jersey basics. And heels. You can sit down after you’ve made your grand entrance. Honest.
